My grandfather, the fiddler, is at the top middle of this picture.

The band was a a group of his friends.

My grandfather used to dress up every Sunday and play fiddle for the family.

Hello. I found your blog by googling "tonnacour" My maiden name is DeTonnancourt. My father's father (Antonio de Tonnancour) was born in Yamaska, Quebec around 1894. He immigrated to Rhode Island, U.S. where my father was born. I live in Toronto.
We just came back from visiting Trois Rivieres where Jacques lived and apparently died last year...I don't speak any French...are you related to him?
I like your artwork! Alexa DeTonnancourt

Thanks for visiting Alexa. Jacques de Tonnacour isn't a relation of mine, but I do love his paintings. I didn't realize that he recently passed away. Email me at j_culleton@yahoo.com if you'd like to chat some more, I'd like to hear more. I was near Trois Rivieres in July, but spent more of my time in Alma and Kenogami, where my family the Malaisons are from.
