Saint Mathieu-de-Beloil is a Rural municipal of around 2,200 people east of Montreal. It contains a whopping 757 dwellings over a space of about 37 square kilometers.A number of fortresses were built in the area during the 1600's in order to prevent the Iroquois that more or less controlled the area from attacking French shipping along the St. Laurence. From the area one can take a boat down the St.Lawrence all the way to New York Harbour. The area fell into British hands when they took the fort of Chambly on september 1, 1760 during the Seven Years war.
Nice colors. Keep up the good work. thnx!
